Compression boots or cuffs: fit, pressure and complete kits

Example equipment configuration

A useful comparison starts with coverage: full legs, calves, arms or hips. Then check garment size and compatibility with the control unit. These choices prevent buying a low-priced attachment that cannot connect to your pump.

What does pneumatic compression do mechanically?

A pump and controller move air into and out of garment chambers. The supported programme determines inflation and release. Elastic leggings create a different type of compression without this powered air cycle, so they are not a direct substitute for a pneumatic kit.

Full-leg boots versus portable calf cuffs

Full-leg designs can include the feet and thighs; confirm the actual length. Calf-only cuffs leave these areas uncovered. Some portable cuffs integrate a battery and controller, eliminating external air hoses. This is a portability difference, not proof that one format is suitable for every user.

For travel, compare packed dimensions, pair weight and charging. In a recovery lounge, allow space for the user’s legs, controller and tubing. Plan a position where the person can reach the stop control without assistance.

How to check garment fit

Use the manufacturer’s size chart: length and circumference both matter. A garment that closes may still sit incorrectly at a joint. Arm and hip attachments have different measuring points; do not infer their size from the matching leg boots.

Pressure levels are not universal

Compare the documented range, chamber control and sequence for the exact system. “Level 3” on one brand need not equal another brand’s level 3. More chambers or higher maximum pressure does not automatically mean a better choice. Follow the device instructions; do not use a buying guide as a treatment protocol.

For a diagnosed condition, unexplained swelling or medical rehabilitation, suitability and settings need a qualified clinician’s advice. A general wellness garment should not be presented as a treatment for a diagnosis.

Compare prices for the same kit

List the pump, pair or single garment, air hose, adapter and carry case separately. Ask which attachments and replacement garments the controller supports. For shared use, add cleaning instructions, drying time, warranty terms and access to replacements to your comparison.

What to send with an enquiry

Send your city, intended body area, measurements, number of users and whether you already have a pump. Include its exact model and connector photos if you need an attachment. Request current product photos and a complete price in rupiah.
