Grade A teak and your chosen configuration
Grade A teak is the wood used for our wooden ice baths. Choose the shape, dimensions, internal liner and cooling system for your space. The wood grade does not specify the liner material or chiller capacity: these details are agreed for the selected configuration.
Barrel or elongated tub?
A vertical barrel uses a different posture from a long tub. Compare the internal opening, seat height if present, depth and the step needed to get out. External diameter alone does not tell you whether a person can sit comfortably. Leave space for a handhold and an unobstructed exit.
Wood cladding and the water-contact liner
A lined tub has a separate waterproof internal surface; a traditional all-wood vessel is a different construction with different care needs. Confirm liner material, accessible drain and compatibility with the chosen water treatment. Do not infer the internal construction from the exterior photo.
A sheltered installation
Plan a level, load-bearing base and access to the chiller. A cover helps protect the water between uses. Timber care depends on finish and exposure; ask which coating is appropriate and whether it can be renewed without affecting the liner.
What changes the price of a wooden ice bath?
The internal liner, timber finish, insulation, cover and entry accessories can change the scope significantly. Compare usable internal dimensions and included fittings before comparing the appearance. If a chiller is housed inside the timber surround, check that its ventilation and service panels remain accessible.
