Make the room work before choosing the finish
Measure the entry route and finished ceiling height, not just the floor plan. Plan how air leaves the building without releasing moisture into an enclosed ceiling cavity. A qualified installer checks the electrical circuit and heater requirements; avoid assuming every cabin can use an ordinary socket.
What must be checked before fitting an indoor sauna?
Record the finished ceiling height, door opening and route for carrying in components. Identify where supply air comes from and where exhaust air goes. The installer needs the heater power, supply arrangement and available circuit capacity before specifying wiring; the sauna should not be designed around an unverified spare socket.
Local production, planned installation
Arctic Bear Wellness and Five Elements develop sauna projects with an Indonesian team and locally sourced materials where specified. Our aim is European-quality workmanship, supported by Russian sauna-building methods. Manufacture and installation across Indonesia are planned within two months; the agreed design, site readiness and any special-order materials determine the project schedule.
A structure beneath the timber
Our custom sauna construction uses a metal frame, rock wool insulation and an aluminium vapour-control layer behind the interior lining. The assembly is designed as a complete system: joints, penetrations, drying paths and corrosion protection matter as much as the visible wood. Layer thicknesses and heater clearances are specified for each project.
Fresh air in, used air out
We provide separate supply and exhaust air paths. Their positions depend on the heater, temperature sensor and whether airflow is mechanical or natural. Two openings alone do not establish adequate ventilation: the complete airflow route and drying after use are part of the design.
Timber options
Bangkirai is the exterior cladding option; Sungkai or pine wood can be specified for the interior. Premium red cedar is available to order. These are distinct timber choices, not interchangeable names. We agree the species, finish and suitability for each surface before production; special-order wood may have a different origin and lead time.
