How to Open a Longevity Clinic in Bali: Equipment Checklist & Real Budget
August 7, 2026 · 8 min read

Bali has moved from yoga retreats to IV lounges to full longevity clinics in under five years. The demand is real — but most founders plan their equipment list by copying Instagram, not by revenue per square metre. This is the checklist we walk investors through before they spend a single dollar, based on machines we deliver and install on the island.
Start with the anchor: one flagship treatment
Every clinic that works in Bali is known for one thing first. For most, that anchor is a hyperbaric chamber: it is the treatment international clients already search for by name, it books in packages of ten or more sessions, and it immediately positions you as a clinic rather than a spa.
A hard-shell lying chamber at 2.0 ATA is the reference configuration. Budget around $20,800 delivered and installed, and plan an 8 m² room with good ventilation. At three to four sessions a day and Bali's typical $80–150 per session, the chamber usually pays for itself within the first year.
Add the daily-habit layer: cold and light
Anchors bring clients in; habits bring them back weekly. The two highest-frequency services in every recovery menu are cold immersion and red light therapy.
A commercial cold plunge with a chiller sized for tropical ambient temperatures costs about $3,100 delivered — an order of magnitude cheaper than a cryochamber — and members use it several times a week. A full-body red light bed at around $15,500 runs twelve-minute passive sessions with zero staff time, stacking neatly between other treatments.
- Cold plunge: highest visit frequency, anchors memberships
- Red light bed: zero labour cost, pure incremental revenue
- Both fit into 10 m² combined
Diagnostics turn visitors into programs
The difference between selling sessions and selling programs is measurement. A professional 8-electrode body composition analyzer (about $3,600 delivered) gives every new client a baseline in 45 seconds and a reason to come back for a retest every four weeks. Add a 3D AI skin analyzer if aesthetics is on your menu — the before/after view sells packages better than any discount.
A realistic starting budget
For a boutique longevity clinic in Canggu, Ubud or Uluwatu, the equipment core looks like this: hyperbaric chamber $20,800, red light bed $15,500, cold plunge $3,100, body composition analyzer $3,600, IHHT station $10,200, two IV lounge chairs $2,700. That is roughly $56,000 of delivered equipment — not counting fit-out — and covers a menu strong enough to sell memberships from day one.
The most common mistake is inverting the order: buying six cheap aesthetic machines first, then having no anchor treatment that differentiates the clinic. Buy the anchor, add habits, measure everything — in that order.
