How to choose red light equipment: panels, belts and mats

Start with the area you want to cover and where the device will stand or fasten. Then compare wavelength, measured light output and the complete kit. A larger wattage number alone is not enough to compare prices in Indonesia.
What is the difference between 660 and 850 nm?
660 nm is an example of visible red light; 850 nm is an example of near-infrared. Manufacturers also use other wavelengths and combinations. Ask for the actual specification rather than inferring it from a red photograph or a product name containing “infrared”.
A heated blanket, an infrared sauna and an LED panel are different formats. They should not be compared as equivalent products just because they share the word infrared. Check whether a device provides light, heat or separately documented combined functions.
Panel, belt, mat or mask?
Choose a panel when you can provide a stable stand or mount and the specified distance. A belt follows a smaller area and needs a suitable fastening range. A mat offers flexible coverage but may have restrictions on bending, contact or body weight. A face or neck mask is shaped for its own area.
For a shared studio, allow access to controls and space to clean the contact surface. For home use, measure storage space as well as the operating position.
Which technical figures matter?
Separate electrical input in watts from irradiance in mW/cm². Irradiance describes light power per area under specified measurement conditions. Compare the distance, covered area and measurement method; a single peak reading is not an even-coverage measurement.
Do not turn these comparison figures into a personal treatment schedule. Use the selected device’s instructions for positioning, duration and eye protection. If you need to use it for a medical condition or with photosensitising medicines, obtain qualified advice first.
What changes the price in Indonesia?
Compare the same active coverage and kit: light unit, stand or fasteners, controller, adapter and any required accessories. Ask separately about warranty, service and replacement parts. The accessory price of a stand is not the price of a panel.
